tree bark - Jen Daugherty psychotherapy

Nuts & Bolts

Philosophy and approach:

My training and ongoing focus is on medium to long-term therapy that is life-changing.

I work with professionals to identify and remove obstacles to growth. We work weekly toward increasing comfort with the unknown, creating more choice, and feeling more fully alive.

Rates:

The fee for each session is $175.

Payment:

A credit/debit/HSA/flex spending card number is collected and securely kept on file at the time of scheduling your first appointment. Payment is due at time of service.

Insurance:

It is with intention and care that I choose to not accept insurance. Insurance points the focus on diagnosis and functional impairment. In other words, insurance requires an emphasis on what is wrong. I prefer to focus on healing and growth while building on what is already working well.

That being said, you may be eligible for reimbursement if you have out-of-network (OON) benefits. Please be aware this form requires a mental health diagnosis and may become a part of your permanent medical record.

For more on OON:

I've partnered with Mentaya, a service that streamlines getting reimbursed for your therapy sessions if you have out-of-network benefits. The form below is provided for you to check your OOP benefits and in no way guarantees reimbursement by your insurance provider.

Scheduling:

Generally sessions are weekly.  On occasion, other arrangements are made. I dedicate a full hour for each session including time for charting & billing. Face-to-time is approximately fifty minutes.

Cancellation Policy:

Please provide as much notice as possible when changing appointment times. Sessions that are missed or canceled with less than 24 hours notice will be charged at the full session rate.

How the cancellation policy benefits both therapist and client:

Of course it's difficult to pay for a session that did not happen. I get that. And, it's simply not possible for my practice to sustain the loss associated with unpaid sessions. I understand things come up; we get sick, our kids get sick, details get forgotten. It's my belief we all benefit from living with integrity and taking responsibility for our agreements and how we impact each other with our actions/inactions. Giving ample notice is not only respectful of my time and the commitment we made to our work together; but, it also allows for the possibility of another client to be seen on short notice. Many thanks for understanding and agreeing to this standard.
